About Us: The Institute has a long track record of designing versatile, interdisciplinary projects in partnership with a range of public and private stakeholders and civil society actors as well as in bringing together researchers with policymakers, practitioners and other opinion-formers from Cyprus and beyond in regular seminar series, conferences as well as specialised workshops and roundtable discussions.
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the Near East University Model United Nations Conference (NEUMUN 2025), set to take place on Saturday, May 10th, at Umit Hassan Lecture Hall, NEU Grand Library, Nicosia.
In NEUMUN 2025, you will take on the role of a diplomat, representing a specific country in a designated committee. Before the conference, you will research your country’s stance on key issues and submit a position paper outlining its policy. Once the debates begin, you will advocate for your country’s interests, negotiate with other delegates, and work to build alliances. The goal? To find common ground and draft a resolution that reflects international consensus.
NEUMUN 2025 is organised by the Near East Institute (NEI), which was established in 2013 under the auspices of the Near East University to carry out research-driven, interdisciplinary activities in a wide range of political, social, and economic issues supported by the expertise of the University’s researchers. The mission of the Institute is to advance a scientific and dispassionate understanding of all issues that are of relevance to Cyprus and the wider Near East region.
